Your Carbon Footprint

What it is.

A carbon footprint is the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases, emitted over the full life cycle of a product or service. In short, it’s the measure of your impact on the environment.

Why it’s important.

Greenhouse gasses are responsible for climate changes and the resulting effects on sea level rise, increased intensity of extreme weather events, and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other effects include changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors. These are things that affect all our lives, and those of future generations.

How we can help.

Switching to green energy is one of the easiest and quickest ways to reduce your carbon footprint. The K Company can help you recognize and prioritize the various carbon reduction opportunities. At its simplest level, the problem is best broken down into three steps:

  • Quantifying and categorizing your carbon footprint.
  • Determining what mitigation strategies are most credible and relevant.
  • Prioritizing the most cost-effective of those strategies.
